Service Bureau Manager

Department: LV Production Management
Location: North Las Vegas, NV

Job Summary: Primary responsibilities for the Service Bureau Production Manager are to coordinate and direct the daily activities in manufacturing, tracking material waste, and resolving quality issues across all shifts. Shift Supervisors will take daily direction from the Production Manager interacting in all aspects of card production. Other duties include coordination with other department to satisfy customer needs for product and resolution of defective product issues.

Essential Job Functions:

• Manage and coordinate activities of personnel in card manufacturing.
• Manage the daily production schedules in all of card manufacturing, coordinating the off-shift activities with the respective shift supervisors.
• Coordinate activities with maintenance to complete required machine maintenance and repair.
• Ensure proper notification and escalation procedures on missed due dates or other internal processes are followed by the production control team.

• Review and answer issues concerning quality or functionality of product as it is being produced and inspected.
• Monitor reprint reports; investigate root cause and work in collaboration with Quality on corrective action plans, as needed.

• Review raw material components and supplies and send order to accounts payable for processing.
• Track and review waste from production process to ensure efficient material use.
• Count raw material and work-in progress for month end inventory if needed.
• Complete basic human resource duties such as vacation approval and employee evaluations.
• Perform these and other duties as assigned by supervisor or other appropriate management personnel.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or experience in related field.
• Demonstrated skill in development of leaders, managing multiple teams across 3 shifts in a manufacturing environment and making process improvements.
• Card manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Ability to use experience and independent judgement to plan and accomplish goals while handling unique, complex, and sometimes ambiguous situations.

• Lean manufacturing methodologies and practice experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Previous experience supervising teams of 50 plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.

The employee is required to stand for extended periods, walk and use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. The employee will be required to reach with hands and arms and must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Employee must be able to regularly push and pull loads using a pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors from one another.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in an indoor setting with variable temperature conditions. The employee will be working around moving equipment and machinery and will occasionally be required to use hazardous chemicals with appropriate, required personal protective equipment. The employee may be exposed to minimal chemical smells and paper dust. The employee must be prepared to respond to emergencies should they occur.
